Chuck's French Alps Tour

2015 

Welcome to Chuck's French Alps 2015. I am planning a two week tour in the French Alps it will take place the two weeks before the PBP. You can come and join me for a great time riding in the French Alps for two weeks and then do the PBP or do your own thing after, The Tour will include a number of the Tour De France climbs. We will be stationed in the town of Grenoble at the base of the alps, each day will be a out and back that will be around 65 to 95 miles. We will be staying in a local Youth hostel or hotel which ever is better.

I will provide the info you will need to get there and back but it will be up to you to get yourself there and back.

I would recommend that you fly to Paris and get on the TVA to Grenoble. I prefer to fly the red eye over night and get into Paris in the early morning and transfer to the TVA getting to Grenoble before dark.

Most airlines have not posted flights yet this far in advance, but be prepared to pay between $1200 to $1400 for the round trip air ticket. I will post my ticket as a example to those that might wish to copy me.

I have changed the ride days around so that the last day is a time trial up L'Alpe D'Huez. I am still looking for a ride loop for the 8th.

August    8  Saturday     : Col De Porte  Gpx Route

August    9  Sunday       : Coldu Glandon and Col de la Croix deFer a two for one.   Gpx Route

I have chose a hotel to stage from they have extra rooms and have rooms that have up to 3 single beds. chose what you like but the whole area if filling up soon. you can reserve a room with the cancellation option and cancel if you can't make it.
